Research Network Dynamics of Energy Conversion (DEW)

The Dynamics of Energy Conversion research network is an interdisciplinary research institution with the aim of meeting the future challenges of energy conversion.

Flexible energy supply for the future

The growing importance of renewable energies is leading to significant feed-in fluctuations due to load changes and placing new demands on conventional power plants and the power grid. Future plants must be able to quickly balance out peak loads, bridge periods of low wind, and enable efficient partial load behavior. At the same time, security of supply requires a significantly more flexible power grid. The DEW's research priorities are geared toward these challenges.

Research environment at DEW

The DEW research building, which was approved by the federal government and the state of Lower Saxony in 2014, forms a central basis for the interdisciplinary work on these topics. It creates the necessary environment for productive and research-intensive work on the complex issues surrounding a sustainable energy system.
