Dynamics of Energy Conversion

The research network "Dynamics of Energy Conversion" is an interdisciplinary research institution with the objective of meeting the future challenges of energy conversion.

As a result of the increasing relevance of renewable energies, load-related fluctuations in the feed-in to the power grid are placing significantly changed demands on conventional power plants, but also on the power grid itself. In order to cover peak loads or bridge wind lulls, for example, future plants must ensure fast start-up and efficient partial load behavior; the power grid must be made more flexible. The DEW's research priorities are geared towards these new challenges.

The core of the DEW and the basis for the productive implementation of the necessary interdisciplinary research is the research building, which was approved by the federal government and the state of Lower Saxony in 2014.
