Dynamics of Energy Conversion
The research alliance “Dynamics of Energy Conversion” (German: Dynamik der Energiewandlung - DEW) establishes an interdisciplinary research center with the goal of understanding and overcoming future challenges in energy transformation.
As renewable energies become more widely adopted, both conventional power stations and the power distribution grid must respond to increasing fluctuations in supply. To cope with peaks in demand or a lack of wind, future power stations must be agile, responding quickly to changes in load and providing a high part-load efficiency. At the same time, the grid needs to become more flexible and versatile. These challenges form the core of the DEW’s research.
Our newly research building provides us with the necessary equipment and a productive working environment to meet these scientific challenges.
