The new building in Garbsen has central importance for the research alliance “Dynamics of Energy Conversion”. The spatial clustering of the involved institutes and scientists promotes the interdisciplinary exchange – synergetic effects are created through the common infrastructure.
Across nearly 2,500 m², the building of the DEW offers space for 48 scientific, technical and administrative staff as well as workplaces for circa 40 student assistants.
The building houses circa 2,000 m² of diverse turbomachinery and power plant test rigs for detailed investigation of important effects and interactions. Furthermore, it incorporates the necessary workshop and supply infrastructure for smooth and goal-oriented scientific work.
